What is the Open?
The Open is a major hybrid event format taking place as part of the World Design Capital 2026. It is a well-established format of the World Design Organization – the World Design Experience.
In June 2026, Frankfurt RheinMain will become an international stage for designing tomorrow. For ten days, visionary design from the region will meet impulses from around the world. Exhibitions, open studios, interactive experiences and inspiring encounters! The events will take place at converted industrial sites, innovative venues, and iconic spaces, linking the past and the future of the region. We focus on innovations from the region and cross-industry networking in Frankfurt, Offenbach, Wiesbaden, and Darmstadt.
