Real-World Lab THE NEW FRANKFURT – From Vacancy to Life opens a vacant office building in Frankfurt and turns it into a place for city, future and participation for one evening.
One hundred years ago, Frankfurt showed with the DAS NEUE FRANKFURT how housing, design and urban planning can be reconnected. THE NEW FRANKFURT takes up this impulse and brings it into the present. How can vacant or underused buildings become affordable, vibrant and shared spaces again?
The focus is on people from Frankfurt and the question of how Frankfurt can remain a city where the next generation can live, work, build, celebrate and help shape the future. Together with citizens, property owners, banks, investors, science, culture and implementation partners, we develop ideas for new financing models, civic capital and transparent participation.
Tokenization is presented as a tool for trust, participation and transparent financing. Participants work interactively with paper tokens, discuss priorities and develop first principles for a Frankfurt Civic Capital Charter.
After the session, the evening opens up with art, Tech House by Merna, good food and conversations. This is how urban development becomes colorful, positive, human and concrete.
CNTXT8 is a Frankfurt-based PropFinTech. With THE NEW FRANKFURT, CNTXT8 is developing a real-world lab for existing buildings, affordable housing and civic capital. Together with partners, CNTXT8 activates vacant or underused buildings and brings them into implementation. The goal is to create up to 2,500 affordable homes for people with middle and lower incomes over five years – for a city for all.
