Motion Creation Design

Motion Creation Design is an interactive experience that brings together dance, AI, and participatory art to open up new spaces for dialogue about design, society, and democracy. At its core is the question of how we shape our environment—spaces, objects, and art—and how these, in turn, shape our perception, our actions, and our coexistence.

The project explores the interplay of generative AI, human movement, and live music. Dance makes spatial structures physically tangible, with AI acting as a mediating force: it processes content in real time and translates impulses into visual associations. Visitors are transformed into paintings, design objects, and architecture.

The event at the WDC Hub consists of two parts:

2:30 p.m.: Hands-on dance workshop, followed by:

4:00 p.m.: Dance performance with dancers from the Hessian State Ballet.

So those who show up at 2:30 p.m can try out the system for themselves under the guidance of a dance educator and are invited to explore their own body awareness, take a fresh look at their everyday surroundings, and work with others to creatively shape visions of the future.

Motion Creation Design is a collaboration between the Hessian State Ballet, the “Expanded Media” program at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences under Prof. Thorsten Greiner, and museums in the Rhine-Main region such as the Kunsthaus Wiesbaden, as well as the artist collective Motion Sound Creation.
