Civic engagement thrives on energy, conviction and voluntary work. Yet goals are often either too broad to grasp or too small to move anything. This workshop connects strategic thinking with questions of justice: What do we want to change and for whom? How can we understand the intended impact in a way that allows us to set goals that are both realistic and ambitious? What intermediate steps lead there? And how do we recognise along the way whether we are on the right track?
After a short input, participants work in small groups to develop their own goal framework and concrete next steps for their topics. The workshop is aimed at initiatives in and outside the university, volunteers, activists and anyone who wants to sharpen their engagement strategically. No prior knowledge is required.
The International Gender Design Network (iGDN) is an international nonprofit organization that brings together designers, researchers, educators, students, and practitioners from the fields of culture and design. The iGDN develops exchange formats, workshops, exhibitions, and the iphiGenia Gender Design Award to embed gender-sensitive approaches in theory, practice, and design education, avoid stereotypes, create visibility, and promote gender-equitable solutions.
