Primrose Path by Nadine Kolodziey is a multilayered augmented reality work that unfolds on the sunken stage at the centre of Hauptwache, Frankfurt.
Inside this urban hollow — a cavity carved into one of Frankfurt's busiest transit points — natural and architectural forms surface and expand outward into the surrounding city. Through the smartphone’s screen, fantastic environments emerge and press up against the everyday, exploring how digital layers can reshape public space and collective imagination.
The work is only accessible on site through WAVA, a non-profit augmented reality platform. Thanks to its site-specific setup, multiple people can enter and view the work simultaneously through their own devices, each from a slightly different perspective. Wandering between the worlds composed by Kolodziey, our mundane devices become portals to possible futures and imaginations – an invitation to a joint speculative moment amidst the urban flow of transit and commerce.
The free-to-download WAVA app is available for iOS and Android.
