VIENNA DESIGN WEEK
...
A Trojan horse from Vienna is coming to Frankfurt—not to invade the city, but to introduce Frankfurt to young Viennese design for an evening. At the invitation of VIENNA DESIGN WEEK the Tisch 7 collective developed a design intervention under the title Horsing Around – Don’t Hold Back, that moves between object, space, and social interaction.
Tisch 7—Valentin Bauer, Lenz Dreher, Theresa Pöschl, Valentina Lian Sturn, and Leon Theodor—works in a playful, accessible, and interdisciplinary manner. The starting point is Frankfurt’s iconic bar “Gute Stute.” Selected objects are taken from there, brought to Vienna, and transformed. Through appropriation and reinterpretation, hybrid artifacts emerge – familiar yet at the same time alienated.
These objects return to Frankfurt as a “Trojan Horse.” Over the course of the evening, they are reactivated, used, and further transformed. Design appears not as a finished result, but as an open process shaped by use, interaction, and collective experience.
Riding along with Tisch 7 is Frankfurt-based designer Kai Linke. His contribution to VIENNA DESIGN WEEK 2025 will be shown in Frankfurt for the first time expanding the dialogue between the cities.
Visitors can expect to become part of the project. Between irony and ambition, a space emerges where design can be experienced performatively. A culinary delight completes the evening with a Viennese cult dish, culminating in a temporary community under the sign of the horse.

VIENNA DESIGN WEEK is Austria’s largest curated design festival and has transformed Vienna into a City Full of Design every autumn since 2007. Through exhibitions, interventions, and collaborative formats, the festival presents design as a socially relevant practice: Open, experimental, and with free entrance.
Tisch 7 is an interdisciplinary collective based in Vienna working between design, art, and space. Through playful, site-specific projects, the collective explores design as a social and shared experience.
