ma ma Interactive System Design opens its doors welcoming visitors to explore its projects, ways of working, and its understanding of what design can be.

ma ma is a design and strategy consultancy based in Frankfurt am Main. Its work spans design and futures studies, strategic innovation, and design futuring through to the creation of systemic, sustainable solutions. For over 20 years, ma ma has worked at the intersection of product design, user interfaces, and digital systems – including connected intelligent home appliances and building technologies, medical devices, and solutions for industrial infrastructure – alongside an ongoing engagement with questions about the role of design in social, technological, and organisational change.

ma ma will share insights into projects and work from more than two decades of practice – ranging from product and interface design to design-led futures research. Central to this are questions such as: What is design? What does design have to do with democracy? What are futures, and how can we make them visible today – and translate them into action?

This day is an invitation to connect, exchange ideas, and think together about design, society, and the futures ahead – through conversation, discussion, the occasional bit of brainstorming, and plenty of coffee and cake. Bring your questions, your thoughts, and your curiosity.
