Taunusstein: Dorfgemeinschaftshäuser gestern und heute: Menschen für lebendige Orte

After the restaurant closed in 2018, Orlen lacked a community gathering place. Some residents came together to form the “Lebendiges Orlen” association and transformed the vacant fire station into a new town center with cultural offerings.

Now firmly established as such, the focus is currently on maintaining and modernizing the old fire station. What conditions are needed to ensure sustained community involvement? How can local residents be engaged? What makes community buildings vibrant places?
