The KulturRegion stands for a broad and diverse cultural offering – from industrial and garden culture to the history of democracy, as well as programmes in cultural, political and environmental education. These themes have shaped our region in the past and continue to do so today, connecting places and people across the area.
Our aim is to help shape culture within the Frankfurt RheinMain Metropolitan Region and to support efforts to make cultural activities accessible to all residents – regardless of age, gender, socio-cultural background or disability. As diverse as the people are, so too are the practitioners and organisers with whom the institution collaborates to develop, shape and implement projects. The KulturRegion relies on the valuable support of experts, cooperation partners and funding institutions both within the region and at national and international levels.
Within the Frankfurt RheinMain Metropolitan Region, 50 districts, towns, municipalities and the Regional Association have joined forces to form the KulturRegion. Since 2005, this non-profit organisation has been connecting the area’s rich local and regional culture across state borders and promoting intermunicipal cooperation. Working together with its members, it presents projects and sets impulses on changing themes. This includes gardens and industrial culture – because culture is what shapes the region and its inhabitants.
