Stricken mit Gefühl! mit Karina Liutaia #2

Knitting with Feeling! transforms the kiosk into an open knitting studio. Visitors first capture thoughts or feelings as small drawings, symbols, or words. These motifs are transferred into knitting software and directly produced on an electronic knitting machine. On site, sweaters are created that make the voices, ideas, and feelings of the participants visible and wearable, becoming a shared textile memory of the encounter.

Karina Liutaia is a visual artist as well as a stage and costume designer working at the intersection of textile art, theatre, and participatory practice. In her projects, she combines textile crafts such as knitting, sewing, and embroidery with conversations and collaborative working processes. She is particularly interested in how textile techniques can bring people into dialogue and translate personal experiences into collective forms.
