"Im Zeichnen der Demokratie" is a drawing workshop in the style of urban sketching for all ages that makes the public space around the kiosks tangible and opens up different perspectives. What do I particularly like about the square? Where do people meet? Are there corners I don’t like? Through drawing and playful exploration, the surroundings are observed and discovered.

Kerstin Lichtblau is an artist with a screen-printing studio at Atelierfrankfurt. For many years she has been painting, screen printing, and drawing “eye girls” in their own unique world. The steady gaze of these girls shifts the usual dynamics of viewing—we are looked at by the images. Her work is inspired by everyday observations, photographs from magazines, social media, and more. When she is not printing her eye girls, she also teaches screen-printing workshops in her studio.

With the method of CITY STAMPING, in which details from urban spaces are captured using modeling clay and an ink pad, places are explored and attention is directed toward small structures. This printmaking process is a gentle, non-destructive form of engaging with space and sharpens perception as well as mindful interaction.
