Experience a creative music project with the Chroma Collective that explores democracy and political engagement through collective music-making and improvisation. Guided by members of the Chroma Collective, participants improvise and conduct works by Pauline Oliveros, Alison Knowles, and Cornelius Cardew, which challenge traditional boundaries of performance. No prior musical experience is required. #2

The Chroma Collective, founded in 2024/25 at the International Ensemble Modern Academy (IEMA) in Frankfurt, brings together 12 musicians from 11 countries. It develops new concert formats for contemporary music and combines postmigrant perspectives with intercultural exchange. The ensemble has performed at festivals in Berlin, Graz, Hamburg, Utrecht, Witten, and Lucerne, among others. In 2026, performances are planned at the Moers Festival, the Real Academia de España in Rome, and in Frankfurt and the surrounding region.

The Project DemokratieKiosk is realised by Lust auf besser leben gGmbH. Funded by: Gefördert von: WDC, Kulturfonds RheinMain, Deutsche Stiftung Fernsehlotterie, Stiftung Polytechnische Gesellschaft, Hessische Landeszentrale für politische Bildung, Kulturzeiter*innen e.V.
