WDC-Campus

The WDC Campus is a central future-oriented project of the World Design Capital Frankfurt RheinMain 2026, located at the Museum Angewandte Kunst. Under the application motto Design for Democracy. Atmospheres for a better life, it provides students, graduates, and start-ups with a platform to showcase innovative projects and visions for a sustainable future in society, business, and politics, while connecting universities, companies, and cultural actors across generations.

The campus functions as a workshop, laboratory, discussion space, and festival all at once. Here, young talents pool their creative energy to address interdisciplinary topics such as climate change, social justice, health, mobility, governance, and democracy. University projects are presented in a large exhibition and a variety of formats, organized into ten fields of action: Work, Building & Housing, Education, Health, Industry, Consumption, Culture & Media, Mobility, Public Space, and Sports.

The network launched in summer 2025 and spans two semesters (WS 2025/26, SS 2026). Its highlight is the Campus Festival from 3 to 5 July 2026, followed by an exhibition involving around 40 universities with 250,000 students and international partners. Approximately 150 exhibits will be selected and strategically communicated. Panels, lectures, workshops, and dialogue sessions foster exchange between design, science, business, politics, and the public.
