To strengthen our democracy, we need to understand it — and that understanding begins with knowledge of its history. The Foundation Sites of German Democratic History invites visitors to explore the development of democracy in Germany in an engaging and interactive way. Learn more about the foundation’s work and discover the many places that have shaped Germany’s democratic history.

A varied programme for all ages awaits at the information stand: a theatre performance brings the story of the Basic Law to life, while an elephant takes children on a journey through the history of democracy. Visitors can also test their knowledge in a democracy quiz at the wheel of fortune, play a memory game on constitutional history, and take part in conversations sparked by the “Democracy Caps.”
