September 2026
WDC 2026
The WDC Pavilion transforms public space into a temporary meeting place—a space where people can connect, exchange ideas, try out new things, and experience design as a force for social change.
From mid-April to the end of September 2026, a modular pavilion will travel through six cities and municipalities across the region, including Bad Homburg, Offenbach, Wiesbaden, and Darmstadt.
The WDC Pavilion is being developed in collaboration with Constructlab, a transnational network of architects and designers specializing in participatory architecture and socially engaged design. Constructlab is creating the pavilion as a flexible, modular structure that can adapt to each location. The final design will be unveiled in early 2026.
What happens at the Pavilion?
The pavilion follows a modular weekly programme that creates space for learning, exchange, and community. Each stop is accompanied by a Constructlab residency, providing an ongoing creative presence and activating the space throughout its stay. Together with WDC programme partners, site-specific activities are developed for each location.
During the week, the focus is on quieter, education-oriented formats, including workshops with schools and collaborative projects with local associations, cultural organisations, and educational institutions.
At weekends, the pavilion becomes an open meeting place for participation and community engagement, featuring activities such as community workshops, performances, live music, talks, installations, and interactive formats.
