September 2026
WDC 2026
A space that moves with its surroundings, constantly transforms, and only becomes complete through the people who inhabit it: since April, the mobile WDC Pavilion has been travelling across the region as a living laboratory for design.
Until the end of September 2026, it will visit six different towns and cities, including Bad Homburg, Kelkheim, Offenbach, Wiesbaden, Rheingau and Darmstadt. In line with the WDC guiding theme Design for Democracy. Atmospheres for a Better Life, the interdisciplinary architecture network Constructlab has created a pavilion that brings people together and opens up space for collective creativity and exchange.
Its ambition is to bring design directly into public life and make it tangible as a catalyst for community, sustainability and democratic participation.
Connecting people, connecting places
The pavilion’s programme is developed in collaboration with local initiatives, institutions and WDC partners. It combines a core programme of educational and mediation activities with open formats and community events that encourage spontaneous participation.
Each stop is accompanied by a residency: members of the Constructlab network work on site, connect with local partners and use the pavilion as a temporary studio for experimentation, collaboration and shared learning.
