- DESIGN. DECLARE. DEMOCRATIZE. Ein Plakatworkshop
Stiftung Orte der deutschen Demokratiegeschichte & Stiftung Deutsches Design Museum
...
Democracy cannot be taken for granted; rather, it has been and continues to be demanded and fought for by many people. In this workshop, we will explore fundamental democratic and human rights and their history, and discuss together which rights and issues are important today.
To mark the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, we’ll focus on “Declarations” as public demands for rights: how do such declarations come about, why are they effective, and what forms do they take?
In the workshop's practical section, students will design their own posters. In doing so, they will learn to clearly articulate their messages for 2026 and present them effectively. The design process will help them reflect on and give voice to their own values.
Target group: Upper secondary level students, particularly classes focusing on history, social studies/politics, and art.
- Workshop 1: 9:00 – 11:00
- Workshop 2: 11:30 – 13:00
Participation: Free of charge. All materials will be provided.
