Essen und Demokratie: Kochkurs essbarer Marktplatz
Projektteam „Marktplatz Oberursel: Lebendig, offen, mittendrin“
Volkshochschule Oberursel, Hochtaunuskreis
With Essen und Demokratie we invite citizens to experience the marketplace in a new way: as an edible space of encounter. In the kitchen of the Volkshochschule Oberursel, regional ingredients will be prepared, cooked and enjoyed together – as a symbol of sharing and collective shaping.
Cooking together opens conversations on social questions: How do we share resources? What does fair coexistence mean? And how can democracy also be thought of in culinary terms? The Babbelbank is integrated as a piece of furniture for dialogue: Between cutting board and cooking pot, space for exchange is created.Food thus becomes a universal language of community, overcoming boundaries and making democracy tangible in everyday life – low-threshold, sensory and connecting.
Further information: Indoor venue (cooking school), barrier-free access, limited seating. Good public transport connections (S-Bahn, underground, bus). Admission free, registration required (limited number of participants), language: German.
