The Oberursel Carnival Parade is one of the city’s largest annual festivities. In 2026, several floats – presented by the Hochtaunus district and the City of Oberursel – take up the theme of the World Design Capital and make it visible in the colourful procession.
We rely on simple, clear symbols: democracy, community and participation are presented in a playful yet serious way. This highlights that democracy is not an abstract concept but part of everyday life – as natural as carnival itself.
The action brings the WDC motto into the middle of the people, at the city’s largest public festival. “Design for Democracy” literally takes to the streets, reaching a wide audience far beyond the usual political circles.
