The technique of hand screen printing can play an important role in the future of sustainable textile production. Instead of buying more and more new textiles, used textiles can be redesigned and reused according to personal taste. This is also possible with fabrics, paper, for example as wallpaper, posters, and even on wood. Small manufactures are already doing this today and, of course, in the DIY movement. Do it yourself - make it yourself.

In addition to recycling, solvent-free paints can be used or even natural dyes from plants, although there are still some limitations and hardly any offerings. The market power of large labels is countered by one's own creativity. It's also much cheaper. The principle of screen printing is already used with large machines in textile printing, but as a sustainable alternative, hand screen printing is also possible at home or in small workshops. Drop-in visits are welcome and no registration is required.

If you would like to create your own print, please bring your own textile item, such as a T-shirt or a piece of fabric. The workshop is free of charge.

The salon is not wheelchair accessible. Visitors are welcome to explore the original hair salon from the 1970s.

The non-profit association “Kulturnetz Frankfurt e. V.” was founded in March 2006 by cultural practitioners from a wide range of fields. Writers, musicians, visual artists, and filmmakers are among its founding members, along with people engaged in cultural youth and educational work. The association sees itself as a platform for independent and self-directed cultural projects and educational programs, as well as an interdisciplinary network connecting different artistic and cultural disciplines.
