Guided tour of Rödelheim West. From Art Nouveau to the data center. In the western part of Rödelheim, with residential buildings and large industrial areas, the development of housing, work, and commerce can be exemplarily observed. Both architecturally, in terms of design, and socio-culturally.

It goes from roof development to densification to the conversion of factories into condominiums. New industries such as data centers or logistics centers, but also private schools and kindergartens show changes and developments. Special features such as the new refugee accommodation from containers next to the last occupied house in Frankfurt are on the route, as well as the Art Nouveau houses at the train station and the memorial plaque for the fallen French soldiers of the Napoleonic wars.

Non-profit housing next to gentrification, but also the economic and technological development of industry and work are a topic. Sustainability, urban development, and environmental destruction such as the impending widening of the A 5 to 10 lanes are mentioned. Fresh air corridors and the renaturalization of streams and the Nidda, but also community neighborhood projects such as the Rödelheimer Music Night, point to the future. The resident and artist Michael Bloeck shows them a corner of the city that many do not know in its entirety. Everything takes place within the framework of the "Retro Design for Future" of the Kulturnetz Frankfurt e.V. as a WDC2026 project.

Wheelchair-accessible, also at the train station. Wheelchair-accessible toilet at the train station and the bakery.

Meeting point: Rewe at Rödelheim station.
