- Salon Schlitz. Retro Design for Future
- Jim Avignon 5 Minute Portrait
Kulturnetz Frankfurt e.V.
...
Jim Avignon describes himself as the fastest painter in the world. He embodies the "lifestyle of the techno generation" like no other. There's hardly a club in Berlin, where he hasn't exhibited. Pop culture at its finest.
Although his works are featured in collections and museums, he paints in clubs and unusual locations. He has already designed a BA airplane and a Swatch watch, painted Rover cars and the Berlin Wall, illustrated a cookbook, album covers, and movie posters, and even makes music. Yet, a recurring theme is the "failure of the individual" in this fast paced world. He also critically examines corruption and the harsh life of all wonderful beings in big cities. His works are sometimes labeled as "Cheap Art" because they're very affordable. However, the real point is that many people can afford his art. With his FiveMinute Portraits action between the dryers at Salon Schlitz, he uniquely demonstrates how art, design, and lifestyle form a "flow" as part of the "Retro Design for Future!" project by the World Design Capital 2026 association, Kulturnetz Frankfurt e.V. It's all accompanied by the wonderful DJ Miss Tulla Trash and Aura Rödelheim.
