The social sculpture consists of a transparent, glass-like suitcase-shaped object inscribed with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the first five articles of the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany.
In a theatrical-musical performance, the stylized suitcase is filled with 36 suitcases belonging to the participants—serving as a collective snapshot. These 36 individual suitcases were designed by individuals, families, and institutions.
The installation will be on display from June 14 to July 5, 2026.
A COLLECTIVE NETWORK OF 36 CULTURAL SUITCASES FORMS THE FACE OF DEMOCRACY
At the heart of the social sculpture “WE are all Germany” is a glass suitcase inscribed with the human rights and the Basic Law. In a performance combining music and theatrical acts, this object comes to life: 36 individual suitcases from individuals, families, and institutions fill the glass case, creating a powerful, collective reflection of our society. Each suitcase represents personal values, hopes, and visions of a diverse future. Together, they make a statement for our democracy—a commitment to freedom and diversity based on our fundamental rights.
