With Zwischen den Zeilen: Ein Gespräch in Seiten we launch a series of reading talks at the town library on Oberursel’s marketplace. Books serve as an impulse to talk about democracy, participation and living together in our city.
The Babbelbank – a transportable piece of furniture crafted by the Oberursel workshops – is deliberately included. Placed next to existing seating, it marks the space of encounter: sitting down signals readiness for dialogue and invites people into the conversation.
Citizens discuss with each other – sometimes serious, sometimes light-hearted. The format is consciously low-threshold: short readings or impulses, followed by open talks at the Babbelbank. This creates a place that connects people and opens new perspectives. The aim is to strengthen the marketplace as a space for culture, encounter and democracy – right in the centre of Oberursel, open to all generations.
