Kunst-Workshop (3) "Mensch.Raum" for Kids mit M.Wolf
Ev. Regionalverband / Diakonie Frankfurt und Offenbach
The course teaches the structure of digital images on monitors and displays and translates this principle into analog artistic work. Digital images consist of pixels in varying brightness and colors, which together form a recognizable image. This principle is applied to paper grids ranging from 4 × 4 to 16 × 16 squares. Colored squares are arranged within each field to create images and visual symbols.
The work process is gradual: through experimentation, sketching, and trials, participants learn how much information is needed for content to become recognizable. Abstraction and reduction are central elements, capturing the essence of a motif while enhancing understanding of digital image construction. Exercises and experiments are designed to foster enjoyment in working creatively with reduction and abstraction and to sharpen observational skills.
The course combines technical understanding with artistic practice. With a longer duration, larger collaborative works are possible, making the principles of pixel structure, abstraction, and visual reduction tangible on a larger scale, while deepening creative experimentation.
