Kunst-Workshop (4) "Mensch.Raum" for Kids mit M.Wolf
Ev. Regionalverband / Diakonie Frankfurt und Offenbach
This course focuses on type as a medium, aiming to develop a basic understanding of text structure and impact while fostering an initial sense for typographic design. Participants begin with an introduction to the origins and types of Latin characters, with a brief overview of other scripts. Specific fonts and designs are then analyzed to understand their structure and visual effect.
Building on this knowledge, participants create their first design project: a poster. All design elements are executed solely through typography. Fonts of different styles, sizes, and colors are cut out, glued, or painted and arranged under guidance into an appealing composition. The project demonstrates how text can convey information and create visual impact through structure, weight, color, and arrangement.
In longer courses, participants can develop additional designs and produce them digitally using appropriate software. Advanced typographic principles are taught, enabling participants to structure text intentionally and design it aesthetically. The course combines hands-on techniques with creative thinking, fostering the ability to communicate content clearly, creatively, and effectively.
