Will we continue to live in a democracy? What do war and the rise of authoritarian rule mean for our freedoms and room to act? And how do we deal with the feeling that the world has gone off its hinges? In view of these and other questions, the need to talk with one another, be understood, listen, and reflect together is growing.

Through these workshops, we invite people of different ages, backgrounds, education, and religions to explore what makes conversations successful, what hinders them, and how we can support each other to act more confidently and effectively in everyday life.

The concept of the two conversation workshops is based on the Reflective Citizens approach, which was developed 30 years ago after the war in Bosnia and has since gained international recognition. Each workshop begins with a brief methodological impulse, followed by a moderated exchange in small groups and plenary sessions.

The workshops are led by the cultural and social scientist, group analyst, organizational consultant, and author Dr. Susana Keval in collaboration with psychologist, coach, systemic consultant, and group analyst Dr. Martin Lüdemann. Contributions are provided by Elli Kaminer-Zamberk, psychotherapist (HPP); Beate Schnabel, sociologist, group analyst, supervisor, and group training analyst (D3G); and Gisela Wölbert, educator and group analyst (D3G).

Note: The workshop takes place on two dates. The second session is on May 7, 2026, from 12:00 to 4:00 pm. Participation is possible in either one of the sessions or both. Admission is €5 per workshop. The number of participants is limited; therefore, binding registration is required by April 29, 2026 at: veranstaltungen.jmf@stadt-frankfurt.de
