...

In this workshop, we will explore the question: How comfortable is public space?

We will discuss which places need to be made more inviting. Where is seating lacking? Where are there obstacles and barriers? How do we appropriate public space?

We will test, design, and produce upholstered elements that can be temporarily installed in public spaces, inviting people to linger and connect.

raumarbeiterinnen is a transdisciplinary collective consisting of Sophie Netzer, Kerstin Reyer, Simone Barlian, and Theresa Muhl. Working in Austria and beyond, their work primarily focuses on public space and engages intensively with the relationship between architecture and people, and architecture and the body.
