Volkshochschule Frankfurt am Main

The history of Jews in Friedberg is not only a history of oppression, persecution and suffering, but also one of Jewish and Christian people living together.

Did you know, for example, that Jewish Friedberg residents were represented on the town council, Jewish children attended Friedberg schools and half of the players at VfB Friedberg were Jewish? And that the bells of the town church rang out to mark the rededication of the synagogue?

You are invited to take a broad look at a small area: from Synagogue Square to the mikvah to the old Jewish cemetery, from the Middle Ages to modern times to the present.

In cooperation with the Society for Christian-Jewish Cooperation Frankfurt e.V.

Additional costs: Individual travel

Why are there so many religions? How do people search for the divine? Is there something that unites all religions? On our journey through and around Frankfurt, we meet knowledgeable experts who explain their faiths to us, from Judaism to Islam, from Buddhism to Hinduism. We get to know places of worship, temples and holy sites, take part in religious festivals and gain an insight into various religious and cultural traditions. The aim is to promote exchange between people of different religious traditions.

In cooperation with the Protestant Parish Office for Interreligious Dialogue in Frankfurt, the Department for Interreligious Dialogue of the Jewish Community of Frankfurt, the Catholic Adult Education Centre in Frankfurt and the Islamforum in Frankfurt e.V.
