Alita Escobedo

Meet Alita Escobedo, a lighting designer based in Tijuana, Mexico. In this talk, she will share insights into her practice and creative journey, drawing on more than a decade of experience integrating light into the arts and spatial design.

As the director of Eléctrica del Centro and its creative space Corriente Alterna, she has received international recognition, including being named to the 40 Under 40 – Class of 2025 and featured in Collected Light Vol. 3. Most recently, she was invited as an international guest to USITT, where she delivered the convention’s first bilingual conference presentation, showcasing her work and the LightUp project.
