Begegnungsinseln: Ess-Bar

Almost 11 million tonnes of food end up in the bin every year in Germany, more than half of it in private households. With our “Ess-Bar” on 22 October we want to take a stand for more sustainability by cooking with rescued and donated food – and then eating together.

What exactly will be on the table we don’t know yet – food saving is always a surprise bag… But one thing’s certain: the meal will be vegetarian. We’re planning a vegetable soup and a dessert with fruit and chocolate pudding. If all goes well, we’ll also make tasty and healthy juices or smoothies.

We look forward to curious and hungry people who enjoy cooking, chatting and discovering one or two “aha” moments about food saving. And if you feel inspired to start rescuing and sharing food yourself, our Ess-Bar will also provide information on suitable volunteering opportunities in and around Offenbach.

The Offenbach Volunteer Centre provides advice and assistance on all matters relating to volunteering and community involvement, encouraging Offenbach residents of all ages to get involved and participate.
