Mein gesundes Wiesbaden

2026

IUD Institut für Universal Design Verw.-GmbH

The health of citizens plays a central role in German society. It has a direct impact on the costs of the healthcare system, but also on social cohesion. The importance of preventive measures is undisputed. But what services can be used to reach vulnerable groups in particular?

In this project, feasible solutions will be developed in a participatory design process. The project will start with social dialogues with citizens in four neighbourhoods in Wiesbaden. There, the problems will be discussed and initial project ideas will be developed in a participatory manner. The selected neighbourhoods reflect the diversity of society in Wiesbaden. The project ideas will then be further developed in design thinking workshops with designers, students and local healthcare stakeholders, and the results will be presented at a final conference. On this basis, a concept for prevention work in Wiesbaden will be drawn up, the implementation of which will be coordinated and promoted over the next few years by the project partner EGW - Ein gesundes Wiesbaden mbH (A Healthy Wiesbaden Ltd.). In order to reach as many people as possible, the entire project will be carried out in accordance with the philosophy of universal design. The results will be published on the project partners' websites and are relevant for municipal employees, neighbourhood developers and neighbourhood managers in the more than 10,000 municipalities in Germany.
