The programme exclusively features works by FLINTA* artists—offering an alternative to societal norms and amplifying voices that are too rarely heard. The second event focuses on the theme of (IN)VISIBILITY. As part of the exhibition “Powerful Textures. Language in Textile,” the concert presents chamber music by Ruby Fulton, Caroline Shaw, Carola Bauckholt, Mu-Xuan Lin, and Helena Cánovas Parés, exploring questions of (in)visibility.

How do we read human bodies? What ideas do we project onto them—about how, for example, a man or a woman is supposed to look or be?

Social attributions shape how we perceive others and how we ourselves are seen. Yet many people do not find themselves reflected in these heteronormative and cultural categories. Between visibility and external attribution, a field of tension emerges: the desire to be perceived as an individual, multifaceted subject—beyond labels, norms, and supposedly fixed identities.

The works in this concert approach the theme from different perspectives, asking how music can make experiences of visibility, projection, and self-determination audible.

#2 is the second event in the concert series “MISFITS’ GAZE | THEIRstory” by the ensemble Broken Frames Syndicate.

The event will be held primarily in German (partly in English); English translations will be provided.

Tickets available at the door:
Solidarity pricing system: €5–20
