Together with Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt, we would like to invite you to the exhibition “A Step Ahead – 125 Years Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt” which will also feature the WeKitchen.

The exhibition explores the social potential of architecture, design, and art. Among other things, it focuses on approaches that make everyday life easier. The WeKitchen fits seamlessly into this concept. As an inclusive kitchen concept, it creates space for people with and without disabilities to cook together. By incorporating motor, sensory, cognitive, and psychological aspects into its design, it helps break down barriers in everyday life and overcome existing structures of separation.

The WeKitchen can be seen in hall 2 of the exhibition. There, visitors have the opportunity to experience the inclusive kitchen firsthand.

In addition to information on the principles of inclusive kitchen design, we invite you to try out the kitchen’s features. We would be delighted if you would use the interactive elements and share your own experiences, ideas, and perspectives. The WeKitchen thrives on exchange and participation. Feedback, criticism, and new ideas are a central part of the development process. They help us better understand diverse needs and consistently tailor the design to all of us as future users.

If you are arriving by public transport, you can either take bus F/FM to the "Lucasweg/Hochzeitsturm" stop. From there, it is approximately 250 meters to Mathildenhöhe, though the path involves a significant incline. Alternatively, you can take the train to Darmstadt Ost. From there, the distance is approximately 700 meters, with a somewhat gentler incline.

The paths surrounding Mathildenhöhe consist partly of gravel and cobblestones. Wheelchair-accessible entry to the exhibition is located on "Bauhausweg." A comprehensive tactile guidance system for the visually impaired is not available.

On the exhibition floor, an accessible restroom is located opposite the reception desk.

Admission fees, opening hours, and further information can be found on the Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt website.
