Über den Tellerrand Frankfurt e.V. & Jonathan Radetz & Akpene Therése Gbogbo
WeKitchen aims to create an accessible and community-oriented space where people with diverse cultural backgrounds, abilities and skills can come together. The focus lies on aspects such as ergonomics, intuitive usability and perceptible design through the two-senses principle, complemented by an inviting aesthetic.
The realization of WeKitchen is based on the research and design theses of Akpene Therése Gbogbo, which Jonathan Radetz translates into designs, prototypes and the construction of the kitchen.
In joint workshops with Über den Tellerrand Frankfurt e.V., people with and without refugee experience, as well as with and without disabilities, can cook together, learn from each other and exchange ideas. Cooking serves as a means to strengthen community and participation. Moreover, the workshops raise visibility and awareness for inclusive kitchen design without compromising on aesthetics.
