Design is a cultural field of activity that is strongly defined by established role models and gender attributions. The lecture series DESIGN=FEMINISM is dedicated to critically examining this situation and considers design practice as a feminist activity. Seven speakers will report on feminist networking and social justice, non-Western design traditions, care and solidarity in urban contexts, gender barriers and disability justice, resistance to the white gaze, and queer design approaches between the poles of care, resistance and cultural memory.
