Hochschule RheinMain – Maya Ober, Dina Benbrahim

Design is a cultural field of activity that is strongly defined by established role models and gender attributions. The lecture series DESIGN=FEMINISM is dedicated to critically examining this situation and considers design practice as a feminist activity. Seven speakers will report on feminist networking and social justice, non-Western design traditions, care and solidarity in urban contexts, gender barriers and disability justice, resistance to the white gaze, and queer design approaches between the poles of care, resistance and cultural memory.

The following speakers will be presenting at this event in the second round of DESIGN=FEMINISM:

Fri, 16 January 2026

4:00 p.m. Maya Ober, Feminist Promises in Movement: Practices, Politics and Design

6:30 p.m. Dina Benbrahim, Designing Independence: Visual Culture in Post-Colonial Morocco

Where? RheinMain University of Applied Sciences, Unter den Eichen Campus, Building B1, Unter den Eichen 5, 65195 Wiesbaden.
