Das fliegende S mit Crespo Foundation & Quartiersmanagement Preungesheim

Towards the end of 2025, the Crespo Foundation's Flying Artist's Room is expected to move on from Gravensteiner Platz. As the square is not scheduled to be redeveloped by the city until 2027, this will leave a void that the team would like to redesign together with the residents as experts.

In discussions with the neighbourhood management and the district whisperers, it is striking that the neighbourhood is very mixed and that there are many different needs of various groups in public spaces. As networking moderators and co-laborators, the team will activate the space in various phases of the project through (performative) design processes in which site-specific prototypes are created.

Speculative utopias for meeting places on Gravensteiner Platz will be collected and mapped. The collected impressions will result in joint designs and testing in construction laboratories in 1:1 models directly on site. Through outreach participation formats, as well as workshops such as construction laboratories, residents will be invited to contribute according to their abilities. The aim is to involve residents in the design process, to spark more openness to artistic and experimental approaches, and to break away from everyday structures in order to jointly shape the neighbourhood as independent actors.
