Kitchen on the Run

In 2026, we will celebrate our association’s 10th anniversary and Frankfurt RheinMain will be the World Design Capital – we are combining these occasions by bringing the Kitchen on the Run container to Frankfurt for eight weeks. As a temporary and neutral space, the container is ideally suited to create opportunities for everyone to participate in shaping their environment. Serving as a platform for existing initiatives and associations, it highlights what already exists and invites the region’s residents to get involved.
The project aims to make people experience their living environment in new ways through alternative uses of space and to strengthen the sense of community in public spaces.
During the project period, we will organize a diverse weekly program together with residents, local initiatives and associations: cooking events & picnics, culinary collaborations (e.g., FNK), religious & cultural celebrations (e.g., Eid al-Adha), language cafés, dialogue sessions and project meetings.
