A nature-oriented, multi-generational housing project in Wiesbaden that brings together key principles of forward-looking, climate-conscious construction — creating affordable, sustainable living space and exploring a new, democratic form of shared urban life.
A particularly compelling aspect of the building concept is its support for intergenerational living, designed to strengthen social interaction within the house community and the wider neighbourhood.
The residential model establishes inviting places for exchange — both indoors and across an expansive landscaped green area — enabling communal activities such as readings, yoga, crafts, beekeeping, cooking, and more.
Each of the 37 apartments is designed with a strong focus on spatial efficiency. The saved space is invested in generous shared areas that extend private living space and enhance overall quality of life. “Home” takes on an expanded meaning: it is not defined solely by the individual apartment but by the entire architectural environment, including all interior and exterior communal zones.
The project comprises 37 residential units distributed across five buildings on a 4,107 m² site in the newly developed Wiesbaden district “Bierstadt Nord.”
The submission for WDC 2026 is made by 3DELUXE. The client is the Wiesbadener Wohnbaugesellschaft GWW.
