As part of the WerkRaum programme in October, the project “Communal Living in Wiesbaden-Bierstadt” will be presented.

This nature-oriented, intergenerational housing project in Wiesbaden brings together a wide range of factors for forward-looking, climate-friendly construction and creates affordable, sustainable housing on a new level of democratic coexistence. A particularly exciting aspect of the building concept is the promotion of intergenerational living, fostering more social interaction within the residential community and the wider neighbourhood.

The housing concept provides attractive spaces for encounter and shared activities both indoors and in a generous landscaped green area, including readings, yoga, crafts, beekeeping, cooking, and much more. Each of the 37 apartments is designed to be as space-efficient as possible in order to provide shared spaces that extend the living environment and enhance quality of life.

The idea of “home” takes on a new meaning, as it is no longer defined solely by one’s private apartment, but by the entire built environment, including all indoor and outdoor communal areas.

The project comprises 37 apartments across 5 buildings on a 4,107 m² building plot and is located in the newly developed Wiesbaden residential area “Bierstadt Nord”.
