Guided Fahrradtour nach Bierstadt Nord

How do we want to live together in the future? The answer is shaped not only by our individual homes, but also by the spaces in between: places where neighbours meet, spaces are shared and people take responsibility together.

The guided bicycle tour leads from WerkRaum in central Wiesbaden to the Bierstadt Nord housing project. A new residential development is currently under construction here, designed with community life as an integral part of the planning process.

At the construction site, future residents and project partners will provide insights into the idea behind the project, its development and the current building process. The tour looks beyond architecture to explore how such a project actually comes about: How can a housing community, a municipal housing company and architects develop new forms of living together? What kinds of spaces support community? And what can these models contribute to the quality of our cities and neighbourhoods?

The focus is on exploring together: cycling through the city, visiting the construction site, asking questions and exchanging ideas.

The tour is open to everyone interested in architecture, urban development and new forms of community-oriented housing.

We’ll meet at 2.00 pm at WerkRaum Wiesbaden. Following a brief introduction, the group cycle ride will set off at around 2.30 pm to the construction site of the Bierstadt Nord housing project at Renettenring, 65191 Wiesbaden-Bierstadt. The site tour will begin at around 3.30 pm.

Participation is free of charge. You must bring your own bicycle, which must be roadworthy (in accordance with the StVZO). Wearing a helmet is strongly recommended.
