The workshop series consists of three parts: Deep Listening, Broad Perception, Critical Changes. Each workshop includes a guided group tour of the city, where personal stories are woven into the city’s design and structures. Three different routes through the city will be developed and explored.
Reflection on what was heard in Workshop 1, comments, and updates. We gather other examples and similar stories from friends, neighbors, artists, and researchers. We expand the scope of our stories, make them part of a shared narrative, and find similar experiences, challenges, and solidarity from other diasporas, cities, and continents. At the end there will be 1-hour walk led by participants. The guided tour will be developed during the workshops with the participants and will consist of locations significant to the stories being discussed.
To participate, please send the following in any format:
1) Short information about yourself — name, year you moved to the Rhine-Main region, and place (city, village, etc) you moved from.
2) Briefly describe your migration experience (3–10 sentences).
3) Indicate whether you can participate for all 3 workshops or just partial timeslots.
4) Add anything that was very important to you during your migration but didn’t fit into the three questions above (images, links, videos, text—anything).
Please send your responses to these four questions in any format to de.colonialanguage@gmail.com
Please, register until: May 7, 2026, 11:59 PM
