Stories and Hopes of the Arrivals to Rhine-Main Archipelago

Workshop 1: Deep Listening

The workshop series consists of three parts: Deep Listening, Broad Perception, Critical Changes. Each workshop includes a guided group tour of the city, where personal stories are woven into the city’s design and structures.

Stories of Migration: Identity, and Belonging. We share stories, memories, images, hopes, and personal struggles. We create a safe space for sensitive topics and foster thoughtful discussion. Workshop participants will be invited from migrant communities and diasporas in Frankfurt from Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, North and Central Asia. The number of participants is limited to 15–20 people. The results of this collaborative effort will be presented in the form of a publication and a public guided tour of the city. At the end there will be 1-hour walk led by participants. The guided tour will be developed during the workshops with the participants and will consist of locations significant to the stories being discussed.

To participate, please send the following in any format:

1) Short information about yourself — name, year you moved to the Rhine-Main region, and place (city, village, etc) you moved from.

2) Briefly describe your migration experience (3–10 sentences).

3) Indicate whether you can participate for all 3 workshops or just partial timeslots.

4) Add anything that was very important to you during your migration but didn’t fit into the three questions above (images, links, videos, text—anything).
