Wie wollen wir die Stadt begrünen?

Heat waves, dwindling insect populations, and new areas of impervious surfaces are changes in cities that many of us are experiencing firsthand. At the same time, it is becoming increasingly clear how important trees are for providing shade, and parks where people and animals can relax. But how do we plan to green the city? What role can residents play in this? And how can we work together to shape and protect urban nature?

Dr. Julia Krohmer oversees participatory projects at the Senckenberg Society for Nature Research in which people explore and shape urban nature together. She also advises initiatives and community projects. During a joint tour of the exhibition “How Do We Want to Live?” together with her ways to help shape urban nature and what a diverse, climate-adapted city might look like.
