How are wealth, power, and democratic participation intertwined, and what does all of this have to do with climate justice?

Austrian activist and "ex-millionaire" Marlene Engelhorn, who gained prominence for her advocacy for fair taxation and for giving away the vast majority of her own wealth, explains why unequal wealth distribution distorts political decisions and deepens social divides.

Using international examples, she illustrates how fair tax systems can function and why stable, solidarity-based financing is a prerequisite for a successful social-ecological transformation.

The event provides an accessible entry point into an often complex topic and clarifies why issues of distribution are at the heart of modern climate policy. In the subsequent discussion, we will talk about potential models for the future and how civil society actors can advocate for greater justice.

Free of charge.
