Warum Pflege uns alle betrifft! (6)
The focus is on making care situations visible that have so far taken place in private. The public is sensitized to these issues, which can improve the situation for those in need of care and their caregiving relatives.
Participatory ways to relieve relatives are demonstrated. Concrete and, sometimes, fictitious home care situations formulated by the participating project members are described and visually represented. o The project deliberately initiates encounters and networks among all participants to promote a supportive and solidarity-based community (atmospheres for a better life). A particular focus is placed on the connection between design and democracy: visual representations, especially portraits of the people involved, illustrate everyday care activities and give them personal significance.
Recurring event – every 4th thursday of the month, 19:00 to 21:00.
Information about the venue: Underground station U4 Merianplatz, wheelchair accessible.
The project initiator is a collective of individuals connected through membership in the non-profit association 'wir pflegen e.V.' State Association of Caring Relatives. Their cooperation partner is Karsten Thormaehlen, an internationally active photographer who has dedicated himself to the theme of aging.
