making frankfurt mit regionalen Hochschulen und lokalen Akteur:innen

...

Various universities from Frankfurt Rhine-Main and beyond are involved in the project and are enriching the design process with their visions. The initial ideas and sub-projects – from “ping pong parks” to “writing stations” to “biodiversity oases” – further develop Frankfurt's “Central Park” and connect designers with urban actors and other makers in the city's society.

Between historical design and modern architecture, the ring-shaped ramparts around Frankfurt's city center offer a green space for exercise, relaxation, and social interaction in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. At the same time, they offer largely untapped potential as an interface to the neighboring districts and could become a resonance space for community and cultural exchange, biodiversity, and climate-friendly mobility in the future.

Location: In the ramparts (from the Jewish Museum to the Literaturhaus) and on both banks of the Main (between Flößerbrücke and Untermainbrücke), Frankfurt am Main

A project by making frankfurt in collaboration with regional universities and local stakeholders as part of WDC 2026.
