How can street space be used more equitably, diversely and collectively?

On Parking Day, 19 September, students from Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, guided by Studio Jonathan Radetz and Prof. Dr Jan Dieterle, will transform Braubachstraße into a place for exchange and experimentation.

As part of the WDC project Democratising the Street, their interactive projects and temporary interventions will reveal new possibilities for public space – beyond traffic and parking. Visitors are invited to try out the ideas, develop them further and collectively explore what the street of the future could look like.

Democratising the Street is a joint project by Frankfurt-based design studio Jonathan Radetz and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jan Dieterle of Frankfurt UAS. Together with students, they explore interactive approaches to more equitable, community-oriented street spaces. The project partner and venue is the Agentur des städtischen Wandels, a public laboratory for Frankfurt's city centre.
