Everyone is invited to bring along a book, an object or something completely different. Everything is collected on a long table. It can be something you love, something you find exciting, something you don't understand or something you found by chance on your way to B25.
Everyone is welcome to help organise or plan something of their own. Want to join in? Get in touch with the AfkV team at afkv@kulturellefragen.de or just drop by. Artist Johanna Dembinski is also collecting stories from the district: everyone is welcome, whether you want to tell a story or listen to one. She opens her studio from 17:00 to 19:00.
The open studio takes place on 6, 20 and 27 October, each from 17:00 to 21:00, at Kulturraum B25, Brüningstraße 25 in Höchst. On Wednesday, 14 October, there will be a storytelling café from 15:00 to 17:00. More info on Instagram: @afkv_da and @johannadembinski
Johanna Dembinski is an interdisciplinary artist and art educator with a focus on ceramics. Her work starts from an engagement with the unexplained and the incomprehensible, with myths, conjecture and superstition. Through interviews and participatory processes, she explores how we deal with uncertainty, collects marginal notes on the supernatural and fantastical explanations for phenomena beyond our understanding. Johanna examines imagination as a coping strategy, a resilience factor and a space of possibility for questioning present conditions and initiating transformation. She translates what people tell her into ceramic cartographies, speculative instruction manuals and diagrams, and designs fictional movements and nested encyclopaedias. Johanna studied Fine Arts at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the Athens School of Fine Arts. She lives and works in Leipzig.
