Antke Antek Engel (* 1963), philosopher and publicist, as well as director of the Berlin Institute for Queer Theory, works on sexuality and desire, power and domination, and aesthetic-discursive strategies of ambiguity. Their most recent publication is *Queer Theory – Queer Pedagogy* (2024).
Nora Haddada (b. 1998), a writer, explores the fractures in language and its politics, examining German obedience and the unmistakable silence that follows it. In *Blaue Romanze* (2025), her second novel, she poses the question of the appropriate stance towards the tragedy of the present.
Dagmar Herzog (b. 1961), historian and professor at the City University of New York, conducts research on sexual and gender history, National Socialism and the Holocaust, disability and care. In The New Fascist Body (2025), she describes the erotically charged racism of right-wing movements.
The full musical programme and tickets (free entry/donations welcome) can be found on the Tokonoma website.
The New Aesthetics of Resistance is being organised in collaboration with the FRANKFURT BOOK FAIR and TOKONOMA × CLUB BIZARRE as part of Freedom of Expression Week.
